Android is cutting distances with iOS

Android is cutting distances with iOS
The operating system of iPhone and iPad, iOS, remains in November 2013 as the most popular mobile operating system in the world with a market share of 55.17% according to Netmarketshare.

The second mobile operating system, including tablets and mobile phones, in popularity is Google 's Android with a 33.89% market share. All the rest of operating systems are far behind iOS and Android. There we can find Java ME with 4.49%, Symbian with 3.12% and Blackberry with just 1.65% while Kindle and Windows Phone enjoy a market share below 1%.

Although Apple's iOS continues to lead the race of mobiles, it has lost weight against Android in the last year, and its market share has dropped almost 6 points, which have gone directly to Android. Consequently, Android is year after year cutting distances with Iphone and Ipad. In December 2011, the use of Android was just a mere 16.15%. iOS will try to counteract with their recent product launches.

Other operating systems are kept in minimum figures, which makes that design firms such as ours always prefer to develop Mobile Apps exclusively for iOS and Android.
