IOS beats Android in Spain
According to Kantar Worldpanel, Android leads the smartphone market worldwide in 2013 and managed to increase its market share in all key global markets, including Europe, China, USA and Latin America. Apple only remained as a strong option in the U.S. with 44% of market share, although losing its leadership in 2013 against Android, in the UK with 30% and above in Japan where it has an impressive market share of 68.7%

With respect to Europe, Android achieved a market share of 68.6% in 2013 while Apple just managed to get 18.5% of the cake and Windows Phone a small share of 10.3%.

With regards to Spain, it has become the country where Android enjoys its highest share. Android phones accounted for 86.2% of all phones sold in the last quarter of 2013 in Spain. The iPhone with iOS 6.7% was the second most popular operating system in Spain in 2013 while Windows followed with 5.6% and Blackberry tending to disappear with just 0.2% of the total.

It is clear that Spain is a country of Android. One thing that is especially important for online marketing companies such as ours that develop apps for mobile and tablets and we see increasing demand for applications logically focuses on Android.
