, the industry association of digital media advertising in Spain has launched its first study on eCommerce in Spain.

The report shows that less than half of Internet users shop online. Following this, 44% among people aged 16 to 55 years shop online, which amounts nearly 12 million of online shoppers.

Fashion has become the leading market for online sales. 65% of online shoppers have purchased products online fashion in the last year. The other markets, say more traditional ones, such as travel tickets and are in second place.

Competitive prices, convenience and offers are the three major reasons that generate online purchasing.

As regards online marketing, it is important to know how to get to our eCommerce customers. The way to get online customers to an online store or website selling is mainly divided in three ways: 63% buyers goes directly into the eCommerce writting its direction in the browser, 48% through  search engines like Google and finally 29% through social networks.

Although many customers seek information on products through mobile devices, 80% of buyers end up making the purchase from a computer or PC. Finally it should be noted that the payment by credit or debit card or via PayPal are the preferred means to purchase for customers.
