Costa Brava House: real estate portal development and SEO

Development of the Costa Brava House portal, a real estate agency with over 25 years on the Costa Brava, followed by its SEO work. Property search by zone and type, listings with 3D tours and video, five languages and a page structure built to capture buying and selling searches.

SEO strategy for the real estate sector

Costa Brava House is a real estate agency with over 25 years of experience on the Costa Brava and in the Empordà, specialising in luxury homes and inland properties. We developed its property portal and then worked on its organic ranking so that the portfolio would reach people looking to buy in the area.

The challenge

A local agency competes on Google with the large portals, which dominate much of the search results for housing. For an agency serving one area, the realistic route is not to fight for generic national searches but to be the best answer to specific ones: property type, town and features. That shaped the development of the portal and the content structure from day one.

A portal built to search and to rank

We developed the portal as a custom build, with a search that combines zone, property type, price, bedrooms, surface area and features such as sea views, seafront location or tourist licence. It can also be searched by reference number, which is common among an agency's clients. Each listing gathers the key data (built area, plot size, bedrooms, bathrooms, price and reference), supports 3D tours and video, and flags reduced prices.

The portal runs in five languages (Spanish, Catalan, English, French and Dutch) to serve buyers from different countries. You can read more about this service on our custom websites page.

SEO architecture: a page for every search

The structure was designed so that every type of search has its own page. There are landing pages by property type (houses, apartments, farmhouses (masías), plots, buildings and castles) and by zone: Begur; Calella, Llafranc and Tamariu; Pals; L'Estartit and L'Escala; Calonge and Palamós; Platja d'Aro; Roses and Cadaqués; and inland Baix and Alt Empordà. A dedicated landing page captures owners who want to sell.

Listings have descriptive URLs, with the property type, zone and reference, and the home page links directly to zones and types, strengthening internal linking towards the pages that matter most to rank.

Content for buyers and sellers

The blog answers the questions that come up before a transaction: which documents are needed to sell, what selling costs, what to check when buying, how to sell an inherited house, how a home's value is calculated and which are the best areas of the Costa Brava. These are informational searches from users weighing up a purchase or a sale, and each guide leads to the agency's services.

If you need a property portal with this approach, development and SEO are handled by the same team. Our SEO agency can help you plan it: let's talk.
