Our intention was to create a web design with character, one that would evoke movement and creativity, moving away from the traditional style seen in most Michelin-starred restaurant websites. It’s a design that speaks of Rock&Roll and breaks from convention — a perfect match for the unique personality of its chefs.
The Slow&Low website design reflects the sophistication and creativity of the restaurant. We use a sober and elegant color palette in combination with dark tones to recreate the intimate and refined atmosphere of the restaurant. By using black as the base colour, the photography of the dishes stands out powerfully across the site. Additionally, the use of the Rakkas typeface lends the site boldness and character without compromising legibility.
The photos of the dishes and the restaurant serve as the finishing touch, providing high-quality visuals that offer an authentic glimpse into the culinary experience that awaits visitors. The clean and structured layout of the content makes for easy navigation and naturally draws attention to the centrepiece: the food.
The website architecture is clear and intuitive, with a main menu featuring the most important and conversion-oriented sections such as “Book” and “Gift”. This organization ensures that users can easily and quickly make a reservation. In the end, the main goal of the website is to build brand identity, but above all, to ensure that customers book directly online, using the integrated The Fork booking application.
The site is built on WordPress, using the Gutenberg editor, and for the “Gift” section, we have developed a custom WooCommerce setup integrated with their ERP system.
The Slow&Low website is a clear example that luxury and sophistication don’t have to mean a plain or minimal web design. There’s plenty of room for Rock&Roll and boldness in the digital presence of high-end brands.
