Google has just changed how we use to access similar, the cached and share links within the search results. Now we can get to this results through a small green arrow. However, the most relevant change has been the lost of the Instant Previews launched in 2010. A launch that was considered by Google as a big step in making user's life easier for working with search results, making users being 5% more likely to be satisfied with the results they click.
The main reason for Google getting rid of instant previews was the fact that users apparently did not use the feature. Google considers that this function was used by such a small quantity of users, that it was much better to focus on streamlining the page in order to benefit more users.
This is a pitty because instant previews helped users to see a preview of the website before clicking on the result and going out of the search results page. Without clicking any result you could preview all 10 websites on the search results page. Most probably, many users did not notice this feature and it could explain why users did not use it.
