Google is very clear that the searches are performed by users for information and answers, not only web pages. The knowledge graph, availabe in English for months, aims to be a giant step in this direction in order to show more relevant answers and save the user time. Google wants to improve and be more efficient with the search for answers.
It's a simple concept, if you search for "Vincent van Gogh", the new Knowledge Graph gives you a small biography of the artist taken from Wikipedia, and an excerpt of their work and link to other related artists such as Pablo Picasso. This appears in the space reserved for Google Adwords.
It truly is a great utility for quick results and see connections with other results, hence it is called knowledge graph. The Knowledge Graph Google is already in Spanish, plus French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian and Italian, and works in browsers and mobile devices.
