As in most countries worldwide, Facebook is the most popular social network in Spain, despite an annual retreat, its use amounts to 33.3% of the Spanish population.

Twitter enjoys a relevant 9.3% of the Spanish population, surpassing Tuenti in 2012. Tuento stays at 8.7%.

Linkedin enjoysa 4.9% market share, while Google+ has only a 2.7% market share.

Other social networks such as Xing or Pinterest still used by a very minority. Especially significant is the case of the latter despite being the fastest growing social network in the world in 2012. In fact, in neighboring countries like France is still a revolution similar rates of use rivals like Facebook.

key factor in the rise of social media in 2012 is its increasing use with mobile devices. Facebook and Twitter are, unsurprisingly, the most used social networks via mobile. It is estimated that 64% of Spaniards owning a mobile, use it to access social networks.
