The changes mainly affect product information, returns and delivery periods.
Law 3/2014, of 27 March, approving the revised text of the General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users and other complementary laws, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1 /2007, of 16 November amending.
This pompous title has some involvement in e-commerce in Spain and amending the existing law. The aim of the reform is to provide greater consumer protection and to prevent abuse, thereby strengthening confidence in e-commerce in Spain.
From now on it will clearly inform the consumer potential of the characteristics of the service or product being sold, delivery, return costs and real price.
The law also requires stores to inform users that the law states 14 days to return a product if customer is unhappy. Not indicating it, makes that the time for returning is extended in 1 year. It also states that if there is no agreement, the online store has up to 30 days to ship the product and, if returned, unless otherwise indicated, return costs must be paid by the online store.
