SEO strategy and digital marketing for Imagin Institute

We redesigned the Imagn Institute website on WordPress with a multilingual architecture across six languages (Spanish, English, Catalan, French, Russian and Arabic), rewrote the content on every treatment page around the real questions a patient has before requesting a consultation, and rolled out an SEO strategy combining a local layer in Barcelona with an international layer focused on Russian and Arabic-speaking markets. During the first few months we ran SEM as an accelerator to avoid depending solely on organic SEO while it matured, and worked the link building by selecting domains that fit the health and wellness sector. All this combined work has translated into more organic visibility, more consultation requests and more bookings, which is the metric that actually moves the needle in a clinic.

SEO strategy and digital marketing for Imagin Institute

With the new Imagin Institute website, we’ve improved their online visibility and connection with patients, thanks to an optimized design and efficient SEO strategy

Imagn Institute is a cosmetic surgery, aesthetic medicine and migraine surgery clinic in Barcelona, with an internationally trained medical team and patients arriving from different countries. When we started working with them, the goal was clear: the website had to stop being just a nice business card and start generating real consultations, both in the local market and abroad, especially among Russian and Arabic-speaking patients, two profiles that are very interesting for a clinic of this kind and that almost no one in Barcelona was working properly because of how hard it is to adapt content to those languages and cultures. From there we built the project on WordPress, which lets us run a clean multilingual architecture across its six languages (Spanish, English, Catalan, French, Russian and Arabic) and, more importantly, lets the clinic's team maintain the content on their own without having to come back to us every time they want to change a text, add a case to the gallery or create a new page for a treatment. The design was set up to reflect what really sets the clinic apart from others: a medical team with real weight behind it, well-kept facilities on Rambla de Catalunya, and a broad catalogue that goes from liposculpture and rhinoplasty all the way to migraine surgery and wellness treatments. Navigation was organised into clear blocks (cosmetic surgery, aesthetic medicine, migraine surgery, men, and wellness) so that each patient quickly finds what they are looking for based on their case, and so that each part of the site competes for its own searches without stepping on the rest.

Development was done on WordPress with a clean semantic structure, careful performance, structured data of type MedicalBusiness and MedicalProcedure, multilingual architecture with hreflang and an editorial system designed so the clinic's team can keep growing the content without depending on us for every move. On the SEO side we rolled out a full strategy combining a local layer in Barcelona with a global layer for international markets, with keyword research by language and market, complete technical optimisation (performance, indexation, structured data, internal linking, hreflang), a rewrite of every treatment page and a link building effort in the health and wellness sector designed so the rankings gained hold over time. We used SEM as an accelerator during the early stages, both to avoid losing the first months waiting on organic and to get real conversion data that later fed into the SEO decisions. With all this work combined, the clinic's organic visibility improved clearly and, more importantly, that traffic growth translated into more consultation requests and more bookings, which is the metric that actually moves the needle in a clinic. The website has ended up positioning Imagn Institute as a benchmark name in its niche on an international level, expanding the clinic's reach to patients who simply weren't finding it before because it wasn't properly worked in their language.

SEO and SEM strategy with an international focus

The SEO was built from the start around capturing patients from outside Spain, which is where the biggest value lies for a clinic of this profile. We worked the entire multilingual technical layer with its hreflang properly in place, did keyword research per market instead of just translating the Spanish into every language, and paid special attention to Russian and Arabic, where a poor adaptation shows immediately and patients drop off as soon as they land on the site. In parallel, during the first few months we launched SEM campaigns so we wouldn't have to wait for SEO to kick in. This served two purposes: bringing qualified traffic from day one and, above all, seeing with real data which terms were converting and which weren't, so we could redirect the organic SEO without flying blind. The content on each treatment page (liposculpture, rhinoplasty, facelift, breast augmentation, Brazilian Butt Lift, migraine surgery, fillers, peels and the rest) was rewritten to answer the real questions a patient has before requesting a consultation, not to stuff in keywords. We paired the texts with the gallery of real cases, which in aesthetics is what carries the most weight when it comes to making a decision, and we added a specific block for men because the way a man searches for an aesthetic treatment has nothing in common with the way a woman does, and mixing everything on the same page hurts conversion. We also integrated the information on the Fly-in programme for patients travelling to Barcelona to be operated on, because that is an audience that needs to sort out a lot of things before booking a flight, and if you don't make it easy on the website, they will go to another clinic that does.

On top of that came local SEO, which for a physical centre in Barcelona can't be left aside. We worked on the Google Business Profile listing, reviews, local mentions and geolocated content so that Imagn Institute shows up well positioned when someone is searching for cosmetic surgery or aesthetic medicine in Barcelona from their own phone in the city. And in parallel we opened up the international layer for Russian and Arabic-speaking markets, where the average ticket and search volume make it worth investing in organic positioning for the medium term. This double layer is what keeps the business from depending only on local demand or on having to keep paid campaigns running all year to bring in consultations. The link building side we approached by selecting domains that made thematic sense within the health, aesthetics and wellness sector, and discarding plenty of sites that on paper had good metrics but editorially didn't fit a medical centre and could end up contaminating the profile. The goal wasn't to pile up links for the sake of it, but to have a natural profile that holds up under algorithm updates and reinforces the domain's authority in its real niche, not in a generic one.
